What Will You Learn - Curriculum Overview

With our certificate in Paramedicine, students receive hands-on instructions from highly trained faculty about the essentials of paramedicine.

Students learn various core concepts such as EMS operations, EMS lab (I, II, III), Advanced Airway Management, Pathophysiology of Shock, Trauma Resuscitation, and more. Our program allows students to:

    • Develop fine motor abilities to provide safe and effective medical care.
    • Develop critical thinking ability for sufficient clinical judgment.
    • Enhance auditory and visual ability to monitor and assess healthcare needs.
    • Develop physical capacities to move from one place to another, stand and walk for long time periods, maneuver in small spaces, and lift average-size adults.

     

    Blue Ridge CTC Paramedic Program Goal

    To prepare competent entry-level Paramedics in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains with or without exit points at the Advanced Emergency Medical Technician and/or Emergency Medical Technician, and/or Emergency Medical Responder levels.
